Care instructions for rhythmic gymnastics leotard

Every leotard and swimsuit produced by Sirius is a wearable piece of art. The designs chosen from thousands of sketches and ideas,  carefully sewn, hand painted and inlaid with various premium quality crystals, they require special care to provide you longevity of usage and excellent shine.

Here are some wash and care instructions for you:

Washing:

  • 1. Hand-wash only in cold water, no longer than 5-7 minutes. NO SOAKING.
  • 2. Avoid using dry powders,  bleaches and other aggressive chemicals. Only only with liquid delicate detergent.
  • 3. Rinsing with cold shower avoiding rough contact of crystals with hard surfaces.
  • 4. After rinsing no squeezing. Instead, place the straightened leotard on a dry towel and roll it. Better to repeat the same process 2-3 every time using new dry towel.
  • 5. Take another 2 towels. Place the leotard on one towel, and put the other one inside and leave it until it dries completely
  • 6. Store in a cool dry place away from sunlight
  • Do not wear backpacks on top of the leotard
  • Do not sit on rough surfaces
  • Do not leave wet leotard in the bag for long. Instead, use the towel to roll it and transport. This will help to keep the strong adhesion of stones and protect bigger crystals from scratching. It is good to wash leotard after each use as individual sweat chemistry may affect the adhesion of crystals.
  • Carefully when wearing on. Do not push hard to avoid damaging of the side seams. We strongly suggest to wear bodysuit undergament underneath the leotard.

If the leotard is tight and hard to wear, you can use baby powder to add smoothness to your skin.

Care instrusiont for Artistic Swimming suit

  • 1. Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight
  • 2. No machine wash.  Hand wash only with cold water and mild liquid detergent wash
  • 3. Carefully put the swimsuit into the water and lightly squeeze it. No soaking. No rubbing or hard sqeezing. Rinse off the soap with cold water.
  • 4. Dry on a towel, away from direct sunlight
  • 5. After use, wrap the product in a dry towel without turning it inside out and transport it in this way (to avoid scratching of the stones)
  • 6. After each performance it is sufficient to rinse it with cold water for keeping your swimsuit longlasting with vivid colors
  • 7. use baby powder if the skin is wet or sweating to ease the tension.
  • Do not shower in hot water when wearing the swimsuit
  • Do not keep it in plastic bag when wet.
  • Do not sit on rough surfaces to avoid abrasion and damage to the fabric
  • Do not iron
  • Do not pull the mesh parts with the nails when putting on

Bright neon leotards require very special care. It is important to follow care instructions for the following colors: royal red, all shades of pink, rose, neon pink, electric pink, psychored, fluo red, ultramarine blue, deep purple, plum purple, black and some other colors. In certain occasions they might lose color. This happens for several reasons: improper washing of the product, a chemical reaction with the gymnast’s sweat, improper storage of the product after the performance, using of sun tan lotions and other creams, improper hanging and drying after hand-wash.

All our fabrics are washed before cutted. However, some colors still may give discoloration.

How to avoid fabric discoloration?

  • always use underwear bodysuit to minimize interaction of the leotard with body sweat
  • do not keep the leotard wet in a plastic bag or other not breathable pouch. Instead, hang it and allow to dry first.
  • do not soak it or wash with aggresive chemicals. Instead, use cold water (adding vinegar) and soft detergent.

What can be done if your leotard has discoloration issue?

  • Do not soak it with aggressive chemicals and bleaches, it might worsen the situation.
  • affected area fabric replacement can be done depending on design.
  • adding crystals if the deisgn idea allows SO.

We strongly suggest you to use dry cleaning services for all bright neon red purple and blue fabrics. Alternatively you may use our laundry service.
